IMPORTANT NOTE: We have contacted other numismatics for their opinion to answer your question of there being bronze specimens of that weight. We have personally not found a record. Perhaps it could be that the silver has developed a very particular patina over the years or maybe it was a bronze proof before beginning the minting process in silver. It is a very peculiar and interesting situation and we do not know the exact reason.
